Why did you go into medicine?
I loved science as a kid and thought the human body was amazing. I have an aunt who is an OB/GYN and she let me shadow her starting in middle school through college. I got to assist her with the clinic, deliveries, and scrub-into surgeries ( the 90s lol). She showed me it was possible and inspired my interest along the way.
Was there any key person, milestone, or pivotal moment that helped you become who you are as a provider?
My aunt for sure. Not sure I would have held the vision without her.
Reflecting on your career, what has been the most rewarding part?
It gives me purpose. It allows me to be of service to others and take care of my family.
Why did you choose to work at Leggett Medical Group?
After spending the first half of my career doing hospital medicine, I was ready for a change of pace. I started looking for work-life balance and thought I would give post-acute care a try. I interviewed with large groups, but it seemed to be the same grind. I chose to go with the Leggett Medical Group because it offered the flexibility and experience I was looking for.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to day trade, go boating, play pickleball or tennis with my partner. I have 2 cats and just got a new puppy who keeps us busy.
